How do I create ocean wave effects in an epoxy table?

Use UltraClear Deep Pour Epoxy for the thick, colored water body and UltraClear Bar & Table Top Epoxy for the waves on the surface. Deep Pour Epoxy is only for pours at least 1/4" thick at a time and is built up in 1" layers every 12 to 24 hours (up to 2" at a time is possible; we recommend 1" for new users), so it is not the product for surface waves. Bar & Table Top Epoxy goes on in 1/8" layers and is used for the waves and the clear top coat.

There is no right or wrong way to make waves. The basic method: 1. Mix your colors (blues, turquoise, white) in separate batches of Bar & Table Top Epoxy. 2. Pour the batches next to each other on the surface. 3. Use a heat gun to blow the colors across the surface into waves.

To add waves over cured Deep Pour, lightly sand-scuff it with 220 to 320 grit sandpaper, wipe the dust off with a clean rag and denatured alcohol or acetone, then pour the Bar & Table Top flood coat directly over it. The new coat fills the sanding scratches and cures clear.
