Do I need Deep Pour and Bar & Table Top Epoxy for a river table?

Yes. River tables, charcuterie boards with a river, desk channels, and thick castings with embedded wood, flowers, or objects all use both products, and each does a job the other cannot.

UltraClear Deep Pour Epoxy provides the depth. Pour it 1" at a time, every 12 to 24 hours, up to 6" total. Deeper single pours generate more heat and can overheat without experience and a controlled environment, so stick to 1" layers. Deep Pour cannot seal wood and should not be the final surface: it has to be poured at least 1/4" thick, and it is softer than Bar & Table Top Epoxy.

UltraClear Bar & Table Top Epoxy does the sealing and the finishing. Seal coat the wood before the deep pour so air in the wood does not escape as bubbles into the river. After the Deep Pour has cured, pour a 1/8" flood coat over the entire top for the durable, scratch-resistant, glass-like surface. UltraClear Art & Craft Epoxy is not a substitute for Deep Pour on a 1.5" pour. Deep Pour stands alone only for purely decorative castings; anything with wood in it needs the seal coat, and anything used as a surface needs the top coat.
