How do I plan my first river table with Deep Pour Epoxy?

A river table uses both products: UltraClear Deep Pour Epoxy for the river and UltraClear Bar & Table Top Epoxy for everything else. The basic sequence:

1. Flatten and secure the slabs. If you can't plane or sand them flat, screw or clamp them well to the base. Seal the underside with an oil-based polyurethane; you don't need epoxy there. 2. Build the mold. Cover the base board with epoxy tape so the epoxy doesn't stick, and run a bead of silicone caulking along the slabs so epoxy can't leak underneath (guide: https://ultraclear.helpscoutdocs.com/article/223-temporary-dam-epoxy). 3. Seal coat the wood with Bar & Table Top Epoxy so trapped air in the wood doesn't bubble into the Deep Pour. 4. Pour the river with Deep Pour Epoxy. It's for depths of 1/4" or more, poured 1" deep at a time and built up to 6" total in layers 12 to 24 hours apart; the layers bond as one. As a first-time user, split a 1 1/2" river into two 3/4" pours. 5. Flood coat the whole top with Bar & Table Top Epoxy for the durable, glass-like finish.

For color, use Pigmently mica powders or liquid dyes; there's no set ratio, so mix a small test batch and add color until you get the look you want. Size both products with the calculators.
