What pigments should I use to create a marble effect?

Use Pigmently Mica Powder Pigments. For a classic white, grey and black marble, start with Porcelain White, Velvet Night Grey and Dark Matter. Any of the white, grey or black powders will work, so the choice is yours, and you can mix colors to create new shades (grey pigments are also available ready-made). The color goes into the UltraClear Bar & Table Top Epoxy itself, so you add the pigment to the flood coat to build the marble design. Start around 1 gram of powder per 8 ounces of epoxy and add more gradually until you reach the depth of color you want. If you're painting an MDF substrate first, use latex or water-based paint. We don't sell paint or a separate sealer; the same epoxy is used for the brushed-on seal coat and the poured flood coat.

We don't have a step-by-step guide for specific marble designs. Effects like this are based on a personal vision and take some trial and error, so order a sample pack, test on a small piece first, and adjust from there. Each person sees color a little differently, and testing is the only way to know how much pigment you'll need.
