How much epoxy do I need for a round or odd-shaped table top?

Our Bar & Table Top Epoxy Coverage Calculator works from length and width, so for a round top first convert the diameter to square feet: use a square-footage calculator (we use https://www.calculator.net/square-footage-calculator.html) or multiply the radius in feet by itself and by 3.14. A 33" top is 5.9 sq. ft. Then apply the UltraClear Bar & Table Top Epoxy rates: one gallon covers 48 sq. ft. as a seal coat or 16 sq. ft. as a 1/8" flood coat, and you lose about 30% of the flood coat when it runs over the sides.

What we've recommended for common sizes (one seal coat plus one flood coat poured over the sides, unless noted):

- 34" round: 1 Gallon Combined (about 1 pint for the seal coat, 0.6 gallon for the flood coat) - 36" round, flood coat only: about 3/4 gallon, so 1 Gallon Combined - 40" round: 1 Gallon Combined; 2 if the surface needs more than one seal coat - 48" (4 ft) round: 2 Gallons Combined - 33" round with a 22" open center: 1 Gallon Combined

Embedded objects take extra: a 46" round covered in glued-down pennies needed 3 Gallons Combined. If you're near a cutoff, order the next gallon up rather than run short mid-pour.

For odd shapes like a horseshoe bar, break the surface into rectangles, add up the square footage, and use the same rates. Only the top and any sides you pour over count; a raised bar rail isn't coated.
