How do I pour the flood coat on a round, large or live-edge table?

Start at one side and pour side to side, working your way across to the opposite side, even on a round table. Do not start in the center. The reason is batch management: if a batch runs out mid-pour, you have a 20-minute window to mix a new batch and continue where you left off, and the two pours flow together seamlessly. For the flood coat you can mix up to 1 gallon total at a time (1/2 gallon resin plus 1/2 gallon hardener), so a long table is simply poured in sections, one batch after another, within that window.

Square 90-degree edges are no problem. As long as you pour enough material to account for the roughly 30% that runs over the sides, the epoxy coats the edges seamlessly. Live-edge and irregular slabs are a standard application as well: the flood coat covers uneven edges as long as enough epoxy is flowing over them. Before you pour, fill any voids or cracks with epoxy or wood filler and make sure the wood is fully seal coated; porous slabs may need more than one seal coat.
