Can I add shipping insurance after I've placed my order?

Shipping protection is an optional add-on you select at checkout for a small fee that scales with the size of your order. It isn't required, and your order ships on schedule whether or not you add it. If the protection fee doesn't appear on your order, the shipment isn't insured.

Normally we can't add insurance once an order has been placed, but if you missed the option, or selected it and it didn't apply, contact us right away, before the order ships. We can manually mark the order to ship with shipping protection. We don't store card details, so we can't charge your card on file for the fee; we'll either email you an invoice for the fee, or add the protection as a one-time courtesy at no charge.

The protection covers your package regardless of carrier. Our checkout labels it as FedEx insurance, but orders under 1 lb ship via USPS, because FedEx would cost more than the order itself; your coverage still applies. Keep in mind that protection covers lost and damaged shipments, not delays, and it doesn't speed up delivery.

For future orders, select the shipping protection option before checkout. If you have questions about shipping options, call 800-259-1619 before or after you place an order.
