Can I really pour Deep Pour 2 inches at once, or only 1 inch?

Both numbers are correct; they're written for different users. UltraClear Deep Pour Epoxy is formulated to handle pours up to 2" in a single layer when poured in ideal conditions by experienced users. The bottle says 1" or less because that thickness is more forgiving and gives the most consistent results for the majority of users. Thicker pours generate significantly more heat as they cure, so beyond 1" your room temperature, ventilation, mixing accuracy and pour size become much more critical. Lose control of those and you risk overheating, bubbling or other cure issues.

If you're a first-time user or can't control the room temperature, split the pour instead: for 1.5", pour two 3/4" layers 12–24 hours apart; for 2.25", two 1.125" layers. No sanding is needed between layers within that window.

If you do want to pour 1.25"–2" at once, it should be fine as long as: 1. The room is kept cool, ideally 65–70°F. Deep Pour can be used between 60°F and 80°F, but cooler is better for thick pours, and 60°F is the coldest we recommend. 2. You mix thoroughly and accurately, no more than 1.5 gallons per batch, and begin pouring immediately. 3. You pour in 1/4" passes, popping the bubbles in each thin layer, and keep going until you reach your final depth. 4. Any fans blow air across the surface to dissipate heat, not directly at the epoxy, which leaves ripples.
