Why is my order arriving later than the advertised 2-day shipping?
Free shipping orders go out via UPS Ground, which delivers to 98% of the country in 2 business days or less. It isn't a guaranteed 2-day service: the vast majority of orders arrive within that window, but UPS sets the delivery date once the package ships, and delays in transit are out of our hands.
The usual reasons an estimate runs past two days:
- Cutoff time. Orders placed by 4 PM Eastern, Monday through Friday, ship the same day. An order placed after 4 PM, or on Saturday or Sunday, ships the next business day, and the two business days start from there. - Holidays. We're closed on holidays, and UPS and FedEx suspend operations on them too (Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, and New Year's Day, for example). In Thanksgiving and Black Friday week, carrier volumes are extremely high and our own fulfillment can run a day behind, so packages can arrive a day or more late. - Weekends don't count as business days.
Shipping protection, the optional insurance at checkout, covers lost or damaged packages; it doesn't expedite delivery, guarantee a delivery date, or cover carrier delays. Checkout may still show "FedEx" because we used to ship FedEx; orders ship UPS.
If you need your order by a certain day, the only way to speed it up is a paid overnight upgrade. Call us early in the day at 800-259-1619; the overnight invoice has to be paid by about noon Eastern to ship the same day. Full policy: https://www.bestbartopepoxy.com/pages/shipping-and-payments
