Can I use Pigmently pigments in other resins like polyester, polyaspartic or UV resin?

Yes. Pigmently Mica Powder Pigments and Pigmently Liquid Dyes are stable in water and solvent-based systems, and they can be mixed into virtually any medium. Customers have asked about polyester resin, polyaspartic, polyester gelcoat, epoxy floor coatings, two-part epoxy putty and UV-cured 3D printing resin, and the answer is the same for all of them: the pigments should work in any medium they can be mixed into. The liquid dyes are alcohol-based inks and should work fine with any resin system. Many customers have used the pigments in a wide range of other mediums with excellent results.

Two things to keep in mind. The pigments are formulated and optimized for epoxy resin, and our experience is with UltraClear epoxy, so we cannot give direct guidance on how they behave in another product or on a maximum loading for something like gelcoat. And always test a small batch first, to confirm compatibility and to find the ratio that gives you the look you want before committing to a full project.

For reference, there is no hard maximum in epoxy. Add pigment slowly until you reach the color you want. A 51 g container of powder will generally color 2 to 4 gallons of epoxy, sometimes more.
