How do I prevent bubbles in a Deep Pour?

Seal the wood first, mix correctly, and pour in thin layers so you can pop bubbles as you go.

Bubbles in UltraClear Deep Pour Epoxy come from the same two places as in any epoxy: air released by an unsealed porous surface, and air you mix in. If you're pouring over wood or any other porous material, seal coat it with UltraClear Bar & Table Top Epoxy first. Unsealed wood releases thousands of air bubbles into a deep pour.

Mix smaller batches by hand with a stir stick only. The mixing drill bit is for full 1 gallon or 1.5 gallon batches, used along with the stir sticks, and even then don't mix quickly or vigorously or you'll pull air into the mixture.

Pour the Deep Pour out in 1/4 inch layers at a time, popping the air bubbles as you go, rather than pouring the entire 1 or 2 inch depth at once. Poured all at once, the bubbles are much harder to remove.

If the micro bubbles are in the Bar & Table Top flood coat you pour over the Deep Pour, check the mixing tool (hand-mix anything under a gallon) and make sure the flood coat isn't poured thicker than 1/8 inch; see 'How do I avoid mixing air bubbles into the epoxy?'
