Can I use epoxy to level an uneven mosaic or tile table top?

Yes, for shallow leveling. UltraClear Bar & Table Top Epoxy is the product for this. A flood coat self-levels to a 1/8" thick layer over the tiles and grout lines, smoothing out an irregular surface. If you need more depth, for example tile set 1/4" below the surrounding frame, pour a second 1/8" layer after 4-6 hours. It cannot be poured thicker than 1/8" in a single layer.

UltraClear Deep Pour Epoxy is not the right product for this. It is only for pours at least 1/4" thick and is not designed for thin coating, and on a table or countertop it would still need a Bar & Table Top flood coat over it.

Two things to check before you pour. Glass tile: epoxy does not adhere to glass, so a glass mosaic is not a good candidate. Sealers: if the tiles were treated with a stone or grout sealer we have not tested, either test the epoxy on a small area first or apply three coats of oil-based polyurethane over the surface so the epoxy can adhere properly.

If you would rather hide the tile completely, add enough Pigmently powder pigment to make the epoxy opaque. The 51g containers are recommended so you have enough color on hand, and test the ratio on a small scale first.
