Can I pour epoxy over a glass mosaic or embedded glass pieces?

Yes. UltraClear epoxy can be used on glass for mosaic-type projects: crushed glass, glass tiles, or glass pieces arranged on a base and then covered with epoxy to embed and secure them. This is different from coating a bare sheet of glass, which we do not recommend.

You can use either UltraClear Bar & Table Top Epoxy or UltraClear Art & Craft Epoxy. Both pour in 1/8" layers and cure to a crystal-clear, high-gloss finish. Bar & Table Top Epoxy self-levels to 1/8" and is our strongest, most scratch-resistant epoxy, so it is the better choice for a mosaic tabletop or countertop that will see daily use. Art & Craft Epoxy can be poured in 1/8" or 1/4" layers, gives you a longer 30-40 minute working time to adjust pieces, and offers superior UV resistance and exceptional clarity over white backgrounds; it is designed for artists and crafters.

Every mosaic is different, and we do not have guides or prior experience for unusual setups such as a window that will hang in a hot, humid greenhouse. Order a small quart kit and do a small-scale test first to see how the epoxy performs before doing the full project.

A glass inlay in a wood table also works: as long as the majority of the surface is wood, customers have poured over it without issues.
