Can I coat a marble or granite countertop with epoxy?

Yes. UltraClear Bar & Table Top Epoxy is an excellent option for marble and granite countertops, vanity tops, and tables, and many customers have used it on marble with great results. It cures to a seamless, glass-like layer 1/8" thick that gives the stone a full moisture barrier and an extremely durable, scratch-resistant finish.

No bonding primer is needed. Apply a seal coat of the Bar & Table Top Epoxy directly to the stone, then a flood coat. As a guide, a 15 sq. ft. vanity top needs at least 2 gallons combined for one seal coat and one flood coat, and a 40 sq. ft. kitchen counter needs about 5 gallons combined. Finish: epoxy is a high-gloss coating and is not made in matte or satin. For a satin or flat look, spray a coat of matte or satin lacquer over the epoxy after it hardens.

Heat: once fully cured, the epoxy handles up to about 135°F. A hot mug will not leave marks, but use a trivet for hot pots and pans straight off the stove.

Edges: the flood coat can be poured over the edges for a seamless, rounded-over finish, coating the sides at the same 1/8".
