Why is my pigment jar or dye bottle not full?

Pigmently pigments are sold by weight, not by how full the container looks, so you receive the exact amount listed on the label.

Powder pigments: the Glow in the Dark powders are much denser than our other mica powders, so 51 g of glow powder fills noticeably less of the jar than 51 g of a regular color does. You're still receiving the full 51 g. Also, all three Glow in the Dark powders look the same pale white in a lit room; you need to view them with the lights off to see their different colors while glowing.

Liquid dyes: some colors don't take up as much space in the bottle as others because their viscosities differ. Shake the bottle well and you'll still get the same 10 ml of color out of it. Evaporation from a sealed bottle isn't an issue we've ever experienced or heard about from customers in the many years we've sold these colors.

If a bottle looks noticeably short even after shaking, or the color inside is clear, separated or rubbery, let us know which colors are affected and we'll send replacements.
