Can I apply UltraClear epoxy over Spreadstone or a stone countertop paint kit?

We have not tested UltraClear Bar & Table Top Epoxy over Daich Spreadstone, so we cannot guarantee adhesion, and the same caution applies to other stone-look countertop paint kits. The epoxy will likely work fine over a fully cured coating, but test first: apply the stone coating to a scrap board, pour a small batch of epoxy over it, and confirm it sticks before coating the whole countertop.

If the test passes, plan on the full application. A brushed-on seal coat is not smooth enough to be a final surface; it needs the self-leveling flood coat over it so the finish cures smooth and crystal clear at 1/8" thick.

If you want something more durable than the clear coat in a stone paint kit, Bar & Table Top Epoxy is a commercial-grade coating designed for high-traffic bars, restaurants and kitchen countertops, and it cures to an extremely durable, scratch-resistant, glass-like layer. For an outdoor bar, Bar & Table Top Epoxy or UltraClear Art & Craft Epoxy (1/8" or 1/4" layers, 30 to 40 minute working time, superior UV resistance) both work; spray a coat of UV polyurethane over the cured epoxy to further limit sun damage.

You can also skip the paint kit and get a marble look by tinting Bar & Table Top Epoxy, which is used for both the seal coat and the flood coat, with Pigmently powder pigments. No primer is needed over a non-porous surface such as Corian. Order pigment samples and test small first.
