Can I top off a short Deep Pour with Bar & Table Top Epoxy?

Yes, and it is the right product for the job. UltraClear Deep Pour Epoxy can only be poured in layers of 1/4" or more, so anything less than that must be filled with UltraClear Bar & Table Top Epoxy, which self-levels to 1/8" per coat.

1. Let the Deep Pour fully cure for at least 3 days. 2. Lightly scuff-sand the cured epoxy with 220-320 grit sandpaper. You have to sand it anyway, so any light scratches already on the river will disappear under the new coat. 3. Wipe off all sanding dust with a clean rag and denatured alcohol or acetone, and let it dry. 4. Pour Bar & Table Top Epoxy in 1/8" layers. If you need 1/4", pour two 1/8" layers 4-6 hours apart.

The Bar & Table Top coat fills the sanding scratches and cures with a clear, glass-like finish. Pigmently pigments can be added if you need to carry a river color through the top-off.

Because Bar & Table Top Epoxy must self-level at a true 1/8" and cannot be spread thinner, an uneven gap is a problem. If the river tapers from 1/8" low to flush, or only certain spots are low, either plane the wood and river flush or sand the area to a consistent 1/8" of depth across the whole pour. Then continue with the seal coat and flood coat over the level surface.
