Will my epoxy freeze in winter shipping, and should I wait until spring?
There's no need to wait. We ship UltraClear epoxy all over the US throughout the year, including to Alaska, and have for over 15 years. Extreme cold and temperature swings while in transit do not affect the product's integrity. Shipments have frozen in the past and were still used with no impact on the results, so a winter storm delay, a cold truck or a package sitting on a frozen doorstep for a few hours is not a reason to hold off your order.
The epoxy can handle a freeze-thaw cycle. Even in the worst case, where a shipment sits in below-freezing temperatures long enough to freeze the bottles solid, the product is not damaged. When it arrives: 1. Bring it indoors and let it acclimate back to room temperature before use (75°F or warmer for Bar & Table Top and Art & Craft Epoxy; 60-80°F for Deep Pour Epoxy). 2. If any of the contents are still solid, warm the containers in a bucket of hot tap water for 15-30 minutes and shake them vigorously. Repeat as needed until everything is fully liquid.
Once the bottles are back at room temperature and completely liquid, the epoxy performs exactly as intended, with no change to the quality of the finish. This is true for UltraClear Bar & Table Top Epoxy, UltraClear Deep Pour Epoxy and UltraClear Art & Craft Epoxy.
