Which epoxy do I use over pennies or bottle caps, and how thick?

UltraClear Bar & Table Top Epoxy is the standard choice for penny and bottle cap tops. Start with clean, dry pennies or caps, since oil or grime on them can affect the final look. Glue them down, then brush a seal coat of Bar & Table Top Epoxy in a thin, even layer over the entire surface, covering the pennies or caps. The seal coat has no real depth; it is just a brushed-on layer.

Pour the flood coat 4 to 6 hours later. It self-levels to 1/8" and fully encases the caps or pennies in a single pour, leaving 1/8" of durable, glass-like resin over them. That is the standard thickness for bar and table tops and the most common method. For more depth, add another 1/8" flood coat every 4 to 6 hours.

If you want a thicker fill in one pour, such as filling a 1/2" or 3/4" raised frame, seal coat with Bar & Table Top Epoxy first, then pour UltraClear Deep Pour Epoxy 4 to 6 hours later. Deep Pour is only for pours at least 1/4" thick. After it cures for 3 days, sand and clean it, then top coat with Bar & Table Top Epoxy for durability. Leave at least 1/8" of room below the top of the frame for that top coat so it does not run over the edge.
