Is the epoxy safe to use and cure indoors, around people and pets?

Yes. All UltraClear epoxies are 100% VOC-free and designed to be very low odor, and they're safe to use indoors in a standard, well-ventilated room. They aren't harsh like many solvent-based coatings, they're made with odor-sensitive places such as kitchens and restaurants in mind, and they can be used safely in closed-off spaces. Basic ventilation is still recommended.

No epoxy can be 100% odorless, but UltraClear is virtually odorless compared to most brands. That goes for UltraClear Deep Pour Epoxy as well as UltraClear Bar & Table Top Epoxy, so letting a project cure in a room of the house is fine. Once the epoxy has cured, it has zero odor.

Pets can stay in the home while you work as long as they're kept out of the work area during mixing and pouring. While the epoxy is still liquid, avoid any contact with skin, fur or paws. Once fully cured, the epoxy is an inert, non-toxic solid plastic and is completely safe around pets. Many customers use it for tables, counters and art pieces in pet-friendly homes.

If you've reacted to another brand of epoxy, we can't speak to the formulation or VOC content of other companies' products. UltraClear is formulated with zero VOCs, but sensitivity and reactions can be influenced by factors beyond VOC content, including individual sensitivity and exposure conditions. With any epoxy, work in a well-ventilated area and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
