What is the Shore D hardness rating of Deep Pour Epoxy?

UltraClear Deep Pour Epoxy doesn't have a hardness rating, because it isn't designed or rated as a top-coat or wear-surface product. It is a slower-curing, 2:1 ratio casting resin formulated to pour crystal clear at depths of 1/4 inch or more: river tables, filling voids, and embedding objects. It cures to a solid state and is very hard to the touch; you couldn't feel a difference in hardness with your hand. But it is softer than UltraClear Bar & Table Top Epoxy and is not rated for durability or scratch resistance over time.

The published hardness number belongs to Bar & Table Top Epoxy, which cures to a Shore D hardness of 98. That is the product that provides the durability and scratch resistance, and it is what goes over a Deep Pour on any surface that will see daily use: a river table, bar top, countertop, or a thick layered serving board. Sand-scuff the cured Deep Pour with 220 to 320 grit sandpaper, clean it with acetone or denatured alcohol, then apply a seal coat and a flood coat of Bar & Table Top Epoxy, which self-levels to 1/8 inch. For decorative castings that won't be used as a work surface, Deep Pour can stand alone.

Like Bar & Table Top Epoxy, Deep Pour is made with UV inhibitors to resist yellowing and cures crystal clear.
