Can I use Bar & Table Top Epoxy on a wood veneer table top?

Yes, UltraClear Bar & Table Top Epoxy can be used over wood veneer, and you apply it the same way as on any other wood surface.

You don't have to sand it first. Scuffing the old finish and wiping it down is fine if you want to, but it isn't a requirement. What matters is that the surface is completely dry and cleaned of any oil or debris.

From there, apply the epoxy in the usual two stages: brush on a seal coat, then pour the flood coat 4 to 6 hours later. Don't skip the seal coat; it's required any time you're coating over wood.

The same rule applies if you're building a bar top out of pre-finished wood flooring planks. Seal coat the entire top and sides, seams included, before the flood coat. Anything porous that the flood coat will touch needs to be seal coated first.
