Can I use Deep Pour Epoxy as a seal coat or thin flood coat?

No. UltraClear Deep Pour Epoxy has a minimum thickness of 1/4 inch per pour. It cannot be poured thinner or brushed on, so it will not work as a seal coat or a 1/8-inch flood coat. If you bought Deep Pour expecting to use it like our table top epoxy, it only fills sections 1/4 inch deep or more.

UltraClear Bar & Table Top Epoxy is the product for sealing and flood coating. Brush it on as the seal coat over any porous surface (wood, concrete, tile, grout), wait 4 to 6 hours, then pour the flood coat, which self-levels to 1/8 inch. A flood coat is always 1/8 inch, never thinner or thicker, but you can add another 1/8-inch layer every 4 to 6 hours up to 1.5 inches total.

So a lipped bar top or framed countertop with only 1/4 inch to fill that will see regular use is a Bar & Table Top job: seal coat, then two 1/8-inch flood coats 4 to 6 hours apart.

If your project has both deep sections and a surface to finish, you need both products: Bar & Table Top for the seal coat and final flood coat, Deep Pour only for the river or voids. The Deep Pour goes on 4 to 6 hours after the brushed seal coat. If it has to go over a poured flood-coat layer of Bar & Table Top instead, let that layer cure 3 days, then sand and clean it first.
