Do I need to epoxy the bottom of my table or countertop too?

No. UltraClear Bar & Table Top Epoxy is designed for the top and sides of a surface only. You do not need to apply it to the underside of a table, bar, countertop, butcher block or charcuterie board, and we don't recommend flood coating the bottom: it is tricky and unnecessary. A brushed-on seal coat by itself is not a finish either. It isn't smooth and won't self-level, so it always needs the poured flood coat over it.

If you want to seal the underside, there are better products for that. Most customers use an oil-based polyurethane, and any brand is fine; a spray-on or a high-gloss oil-based poly both work. Any other wood sealer of your choice is also fine.

Order of work: 1. Optional: if you want to brush an epoxy seal coat on the underside, do it before you seal coat and flood coat the top. It isn't necessary, and how you handle any other sealer on the bottom is up to you. 2. Brush the seal coat onto the top and sides with a paint brush (not a roller), then pour the flood coat over it after 4 to 6 hours. 3. After the flood coat has cured for 3 days, sand off any drips that formed along the bottom.

The epoxy is not meant for exterior doors or similar projects; it is made for bar tops, table tops and countertops.
